Meet Your Washington Elopement Photographer

Hiker// Dog Mom// Adventurer// Food & Beer Enthusiast// Road Tripper

Hi! My name is Kathleen and I’m an adventure wedding and elopement photographer. I photograph elopements across Washington and Arizona.

I truly believe that life is an adventure and I strive to live that belief every day. I am a HUGE outdoor enthusiast and advocate! I'm happiest when I'm hiking with my dog, Ranger, exploring new, wild places. I grew up traveling and camping with my family all across the United States, sparking my passion for the outdoors, adventure, and travel. I love spontaneous road trips and would rather eat a local "hole-in-the-wall" dive than a five-star restaurant. One of my favorite hobbies is scouring Washington Trails Association and Google Maps for new places to explore. If I'm not adventuring outside, you can find me binge watching The Office for the millionth time eating Ben & Jerry's.

I am a HUGE outdoor enthusiast and advocate! I’m happiest when I’m hiking with my dog Ranger, exploring new, wild places. I became an elopement photographer to pursue my biggest passions in life- being outdoors and photographing couples on the happiest day of their lives. I truly believe that elopements are the best way to get married.

My favorite thing about this job? It is SO much more than the photos. It’s the people, the relationships we build, and the experiences we have together. It’s experiencing epic places with new friends, and witnessing two people commit their lives to each other. One of my favorite things in the world is getting to adventure with a couple in a beautiful place and document them getting married. It is such an honor to be a part of an elopement day, and a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I promise not only to take beautiful photos, but I will capture your wedding day in an authentic way that showcases your relationship and personalities.

When you work with me, I’m not just your photographer. I’m your new friend, adventure buddy, elopement guide, and practically your planner. I’ll help you every step along the way, giving you advice and tons of planning guidance. I’ll help you find your dream elopement spot by sending you customized location scouting lists made just for you. I’ll also help you acquire any permits needed for your elopement day, give you vendor recommendations, and anything else you may need.

Best Places to Elope in Washington

Washington is hands down one of the most underrated states (and elopement destinations) out there. There's incredible beauty to be discovered, adventures to be had, and endless places to explore! Filled with the best and prettiest scenery that nature has to offer, Washington is full of the best places to elope. I love hiking as much as I can in my free time and finding gorgeous, hidden gems.

If it isn't obvious, I love my new state and could talk about why for hours on end (which is why I'm so stoked to share these epic locations with you!). Here are just a few places to consider for your Washington elopement:

  • Mount Baker Wilderness

  • North Cascades National Park

  • Mount Rainier National Park

  • Olympic National Park

  • Snoqualmie Pass

  • Alpine Lakes Wilderness

  • Leavenworth

  • And so much more!

The Best Time of Year to Elope in Washington

In my opinion, the best time of the year to elope in Washington is May-October. If you're looking for the best weather imaginable, a sea of wildflowers in the alpine, and a low chance of rain, July and August are the best months to visit. If you're looking for raging waterfalls, rainy days, and more seclusion- May and June are the best times to elope. If you're looking for crisp weather, stunning autumn foliage, less crowds, and perhaps even a dusting of snow- September and October are the months you're looking for! And finally, if you picture snow dusted trees, snow-shoeing, and winter wonderland- December, January, and February are where it's at.

The shoulder seasons will have slightly more unpredictable weather, but can offer the chance of places being less crowded. Depending on what region of the state and scenery you want to elope in, it is important to research the weather. Snow can stay in the mountains well into the summer and render many spots inaccessible
