Elopement Packages & Information

What is an Adventure Elopement?

An elopement is an intentionally intimate, deeply meaningful celebration of your relationship and love, that is completely focused on the two of you. Elopements center the focus on what matters the most- two people exchanging their vows and committing the rest of their lives to one another. There are many types of elopements, but adventure elopements are typically outside in nature and involve some element of adventure.

Eloping allows you to set aside stress, expectations, and throw out any traditions you don't feel connected to. You can elope just the two of you, or you can elope surrounded by your very closest family and friends. The beautiful thing about eloping? There are no rules.

Whether you want to hike in the mountains, adventure in the desert, fly in a helicopter, or explore a remote beach- anything is possible! You can design your elopement to be the ultimate adventure and create your perfect day.

The Way You Get Married Matters

Nobody deserves to feel pressured into a type of wedding day that they don't want or that doesn't feel like them. Your wedding day should be a reflection of who you are and a unique celebration of your love. The experience in which you say your vows to your partner, when you commit the rest of your life to them, MATTERS. You deserve to have a wedding experience that is authentically you and everything you've ever dreamed of. If a traditional wedding doesn't align with who you are, or what you want- that's perfectly okay!

Instead, you could have an adventurous elopement.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the difference between an elopement, intimate wedding, and adventure wedding?

I use these words fairly interchangeably, and there are many definitions out there. An elopement is when you have 0 guests, just you and your partner getting married and having the time of your lives! An intimate wedding is when you include guests on your day, typically no more than 25-30. Both an elopement and intimate wedding are adventure weddings!

What is an adventure session?

An adventure session is basically a super fun date dedicated to adventure and documenting your beautiful love. Adventure sessions can be used to celebrate engagements, anniversaries, to propose, "just because", or even to take some epic couples photos in your wedding clothes after your big day! Read more about adventure sessions.

Why would I want to hire a photographer for 6+ hours?

The way you get married is important! Your wedding day will be your anniversary for the rest of your life- your elopement is so incredibly special. You deserve to have your ENTIRE adventure captured (not just your vows and some quick portraits!) for you to relive time and time again. Trust me when I say this is not an all-day photo shoot. You won't have a camera in your face the entire time. We'll be hiking, laughing, doing whatever adventures you want, exploring some really epic places, and at some point along the way you'll get married! This is about documenting your wedding day and the two of you having the time of your lives. Learn more about what you can do on an all-day elopement.

Why hire an "elopement photographer", what's the difference from another photographer?

A photographer who specializes in elopements, will generally have much more experience photographing elopements and adventure weddings- knowing how the day should flow and be able to answer any questions you may have. They should also have experience photographing while hiking and be comfortable in the outdoors. Elopement photographers are much more intimately involved in the planning process and will be able to help you with all the logistics & details.

What's it like to work with you?

I love photographing elopements and adventure weddings almost more than anything in the world. I am very involved with helping you plan your day- I'm there for you every step of the way. With every couple I work with, I do custom location scouting- helping you find the perfect place to elope. I also help you with vendor recommendations, day-of timeline suggestions, logistical support, acquiring permits & passes, giving you tons of helpful information, and can act as your officiant if needed. I'll answer any questions you may have, and do everything I can to make this as easy as a process as possible. On your elopement day, I'm your adventure buddy- tagging along and documenting you two having the time of your lives.

We feel awkward in front of the camera, will we still get good photos?

I feel you. Almost everyone I photograph says this, being in front of the camera can be uncomfortable or even scary. Personally, I hate being photographed- so I 100% understand your concerns. My style of photography is documentary with a very relaxed, natural posing style (no forced smiles or uncomfortable poses). My goal is that you get so comfortable, you forget the camera is even there! I want you to feel 100% confident to truly be yourself, be deeply connected with one another and let your personalities shine. I promise to not only take beautiful photos, but to capture you and your relationship authentically and in a way that represents who you are.

How do I plan an elopement?

Planning an elopement can be daunting- there aren't a whole ton of resources out there for couples choosing to go a nontraditional route! I created a general Elopement Planning Guide to help adventurous couples plan their elopements with ease. I also have created several location specific elopement guides! Check out How to Elope in Arizona: A Complete Guide & How to Elope in Washington: A Complete Guide. Hopefully these planning devices help you! If you have any additional questions or want to get started planning your elopement, you can contact me!

How far in advance should I start planning?

I start booking couples a year out. Most couples take around 6-10 months to plan their adventure elopement. However, you can still pull off an epic elopement in a month or less! No matter how far in advance or last minute, I'd love to chat with you about your wedding.

What if I'm not an avid hiker, can I still elope somewhere outdoors that's not too crowded?

Yes! There are countless locations that are easy to access and don't require extensive hiking. Additionally, you can choose to adventure in other ways besides hiking (helicopter & air tours, dog sled rides, off-roading, kayaking, hot air balloons, etc.)

Alright, let's do this! How does it work?

First, contact me! Tell me about yourselves, where you want to elope, and your general vision for your day. It's okay if you don't have everything figured out yet, I'm here to help you with the planning process. Next, we'll schedule a phone call where we can get to know each other better and talk about your dream elopement day. Then, you book your date by signing a contract & paying a retainer. Now we get into planning your adventure- logistics, locations, and all the nitty, gritty details. Finally, you get married and have the best day of your lives! Then, you get your epic photos delivered and relive your elopement experience again and again.
