Worried about being in photos?
Don't be.

Seriously! Every single couple I've photographed has expressed concern or been worried about having their photos taken before their elopement day with me.  You're not alone!

Then after their elopement day, couples tell me that it was a lot easier than they expected, they had a lot of fun, and they forgot I was taking photos! (Plus, their photos look amazing!)

Your elopement experience can be this way too.

Less Posing, More You

I'm not here to capture forced emotions, faked moments or the same shots over and over again, I'm here to capture the real you and your real love. No forced poses, no fake smiles, no saying crazy things to get a reaction just for "the shot". In fact, this isn't about me at all. It's all about you. It's all about you having an incredible experience and having the best day imaginable. I truly believe that when you're having the time of your lives, beautiful photos will follow. I'm here to tell the story of your day, to capture images full of real emotion, laughter, adventure, love, and most importantly images that are an authentic representation of you and your relationship. I want you to look back at your photos and think "yes, this is us".

Feeling awkward in front of the camera is a very real fear, one that I understand very personally. I hate being in front of the camera myself, and have had some very uncomfortable times when my husband and I have been photographed. I get it. Which is why I never want you to feel that way. Almost everyone I photograph has this concern, being in front of the camera can be uncomfortable or even scary. Which is why I take a documentary or storytelling approach to photography. Photos don't have to be a stressful thing, they can be so much fun and easier to do than you've ever imagined. I have a very relaxed, natural posing style where my main focus is capturing the real you in the most authentic & fun way possible! My goal is that you get so comfortable, you forget the camera is even there, and feel 100% confident to truly be yourself, be deeply connected with one another and let your personalities shine. Which is why getting to know the real you is so important to me and is why I want to get to know you and connect before we ever meet in person. After all, it's much easier to be photographed by a friend than some random stranger! If you're still worried, check out my reviews to see what couples say about working with me.

"We are thrilled with our pictures and how Kathleen captured so many special moments—the emotions on each of our faces, the little ways my partner and I relate to each other, and the beauty of our chosen locations and activities. We felt safe and comfortable in Kathleen's adaptable, capable, and competent professionalism, and we would recommend her to all of our friends and family." -Chellie & Blake

"She crafted a whole experience- not just putting us in poses for the photos. It was truly a whole experience that was so special and intimate. I don't think anybody else could go as above and beyond as Kathleen! The photoshoot was so intimate and real where Kathleen captured the true us- nothing artificial about it! It was amazing having her guide us through our first professional photoshoot and really made it all about our time and relationship together thus far. She has an amazing eye for art and couples photography. So glad I got a chance to experience a session with her!" -Haley & Hunter

"I cannot gush enough about Kathleen or our incredible photos. Even from the beginning she exceeded every expectation. John and I aren't natural models, but Kathleen made things so fun and we felt relaxed & comfortable in front of the camera. It was incredible to have her as a part of our little adventure. She allowed us to focus on each other and just enjoy the moment, capturing us at our absolute happiest. I felt like a princess and my husband, who usually hates pictures, was having the time of his life. Kathleen directed us just enough so it didn't feel awkward, but kept things natural and candid. She knew all the best spots and took the time to make sure every shot was flattering on us & featured the lovely red rock landscape.
I've never experienced anything so personal and I've never been so happy with photos before. Our gallery came quick and the pictures were beyond what I could've hoped for. There wasn't a single one I wasn't in total awe of. We are so grateful Kathleen was with us for this moment of ours and hope to book her for any future adventures life may bring 💕" -Aubrey & John

"She took the time to really understand who we were as a couple and our story. Day of, she started us off with a grounding mindfulness exercise that wasn’t too “woo-hoo” and set the tone for me and my spouse to really connect and it shows in our pictures. Our pictures came out gorgeous! Especially since I have body image issues and typically hate seeing pictures of myself, these pictures are beautiful and I love them." -Sarah & Crystal

"We felt so at ease and comfortable during the photoshoot. Kathleen did a phenomenal job of giving us a few cues for different poses but also just let us be ourselves and captured some amazing moments. She took a few moments before the shoot to really set the mood and allowed us to just be together and hug for a few minutes which was nice. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!" -Cori & Jess
